My Commission Work

This page showcases some of my stained glass commission work. If you're interested in speaking about a commission piece head over to the  "Commissions Request" tab and fill out the form.

Steam Engine Panel

Steam Engine Stained Glass Panel
This is a special piece that I made for our boys. They absolutely love trains and have an HO Scale train layout table that they play with. The train table is located adjacent to my studio space on the unfinished side of our basement. There is only one window in this area so I carefully selected each type of cathedral glass so we didn't lose much daylight. This piece features a lot of wire work as well as copper foil overlays. Breast Cancer Awareness Panel

Breast Cancer Awareness Stained Glass Panel

This piece was donated to the breast center at our local hospital in honor of my mom and so many others who have battled/are battling breast cancer. The background is clear iridescent glass and is an implied sun. To me, it is Christ shining down on all of those who are fighting. The ribbon is blowing in the wind. The butterfly has two meanings, first I wanted a butterfly to resemble freedom and hope. And secondly, it is a nod to Dolly Parton who the Women's Center at our hospital is named after. Pattern by Dave Goeken & Kristal Kreations

Rabbit & Frog Memorial Panel

Bunny & Frog Memorial Stained Glass Panel

This commission commemorates the love between a precious married couple and was commissioned by their family as a memorial gift. It features a beautiful twisted came border. Patterm by: Kat Patrick

Hummingbird and Fuchsia Panel

Hummingbird and Fuchsia Panel
Growing up when we would visit my Grandmother, she and I would sit and watch "her birds" together. She loved hummingbirds and most other birds as well. It was always fun to watch the birds at their feeders with her but the hummers were always my favorite. They are such special little creatures. Now, my boys and I enjoy watching them at our own feeders throughout the Spring and Summer. 💜
This piece features lots of GNA glass and some old Spectrum rough rolled glass. I used a special and new to me technique called "plating" where you layer two or more pieces of glass to achieve different effects. I used clear iridescent glass behind the grey parts of the wings because when sunlight is behind hummingbird wings, they refract the light and look like rainbows. Pattern by: Justin Behnke

Dichroic Glass Snowflake Panel

Dichroic Snowflake Stained Glass Panel

This is a piece that I made for our own home. It features some very expensive elements that I splurged a lot on. The moody and magical dichroic glass is just mind blowing. This was my first time working with dichro and it will certainly not be my last. In addition to the dichro, I used some spectacularly sparkly jewels. This is one of my favorite pieces by far and I love looking at it every day! Pattern by: Justin Behnke

Abstract Clear Texture Panel

Abstract All Clear Textures Panel

Abstract is not something I do often so it's a bit out of my wheelhouse but I was able to draw up this original design. This funky piece is for our home and will hang in our basement laundry room window and will hide the ugly corrugated metal window surround that's outside but still give tons of natural light. It features a custom magiscope bevel made by the amazing Alberto Palama in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. It also has stock bevels, jewels, a white pinch back piece, 7 scraps of dichroic glass, and I believe somewhere over 20 different kinds of clear textured glass. I absolutely love how it came out and am enjoying seeing it in my window. The bevels and jewels also treat us with beautiful rainbows when the sun hits the panel. I've always loved working with nothing but clear glass in a piece and haven't done one in a while so this was fun to put together.
This piece is around 27.5"x18".

Monogram Wedding Gift Panel

Monogram Wedding Gift Stained Glass Panel

This piece was commissioned as a wedding gift for a lovely couple. Their wedding date is etched into the glass and highlighted with rub'n'buff to highlight it. Pattern by: Marian Miller

Dragonfly Mini Panel

This commission piece was done in my customers favorite color combination - purple and teal/turquoise. She requested a mini panel at 8.25" square that featured a dragonfly. Lighting wasn't cooperating with me too well this day but the body of the dragonfly is a deep deep purple. Pattern by Kristal Kreations

Nativity Panel

Nativity Stained Glass Panel

This was such a fun commission piece! The pattern was originally intended for quilting, I was able to track down the original artist and got permission from her to make it in Stained Glass. The glow around baby Jesus is not edited, the sun hit perfectly on that piece of glass giving it that look naturally. Pattern by: Edna Trunt

Nativity Stained Glass Panel

I got a second commission for the Nativity piece but made sure to change things up the second time with some different colors and I also made some design changes.

Bevel Cross Panel

Bevel Cross Stained Glass Panel

I designed this beautiful Bevel Cross panel and used the ever so sparkly clear granite texture iridescent glass for the center glass. The bevel cross and bevels in the border make beautiful rainbows when the sun shines through. This piece was Donated to Angel Wings Memory Gowns for one of their annual fundraising auctions. They are an amazing non-profit that donates hand made memory gowns for babies lost between the ages of 18 weeks gestation to toddlers. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Smoky Mountain Sunset Panel

Smoky Mountain Sunset Transom Stained Glass Panel

This Smoky Mountain Sunset Transom panel was a custom order with some special requests. My customers requested cathedral glass and 2-D overlay trees and rocks that are tack soldered onto the main panel. The husband is a woodworker and he made a beautiful wood frame for it and installed it in their Smoky Mountain home.Pattern by: Kat Patrick & Kristal Kreations

Arizona & Montana Panel

Arizona & Montana Stained Glass Panel

This was a fun commission! My customer requested a piece that would reflect Arizona and Montana and the extreme difference in climate that the two states have. She is in Arizona and loves the heat but hates the cold, while her best friend is in Montana and loves the cold but hates the heat. Their friendship is what keeps them close and they still visit each other despite their strong feelings for their differing climates. I immediately got a picture in my minds eye of a desert scene turning into a snowy mountain. I drew up this pattern and she loved it so the project was a go! Pattern by Kristal Kreations

Air Force Emblem Panel

Air Force Stained Glass Panel

Commissioned by one of my very good friends who has two siblings serving in the Air Force. The panel features beautiful Blue Hammered Glass and an exquisite bevel cluster of the US Air Force emblem. It was a gift for her mother for Christmas. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Abstract Squiggles Panel

Abstract Squiggles Stained Glass Panel

I don't get too many requests for abstract pieces but this was an interesting one to complete. So many swervey curvy cuts in this one! Made with custom requested colors to match the bedroom decor of my customers daughter, this was a gift for her for a milestone birthday. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Raccoon Pair Panel

Stained Glass Raccoon Pair Panel

A request from a customer who has a pair of raccoons that visit her property almost daily. This was a cute and fun piece to do! It features a black zinc frame, black patina finish on the solder lines and copper foil overlays for their eyes which are dotted with white paint to show reflecting light. Pattern by: Kat Patrick

Summer Fun Pineapple Panel

Stained Glass Pineapple Panel

This panel was inspired by a garden flag that my customer had. She asked me to turn it into stained glass and here is the result. I love how this piece came out, it's so fun and colorful and makes me dream of warm summer days. It features a black zinc frame and mixed patina on the solder lines. Black patina was used on everything but the gold of the pineapple, I used copper patina there. It was my first time using two different patina colors on one piece and I'm really happy with how it came out.

Celtic Heart Panel

Celtic Heart Stained Glass Panel

I made this piece years ago as a wedding gift to my very best friend. Most of the glass used in this special piece has now been discontinued and is no longer available. However, this design could be recreated with readily available glass. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

18" Elegant Burst Bevel Panel

18" Elegant Burst Bevel Stained Glass Panel

This beautiful commission piece features a beautiful center bevel cluster and sparkling Diamond Ice glass. The bevels make rainbows when the sun shines through them! Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Abstract Heart & Cross Panel

Abstract Heart & Cross Stained Glass Panel

I made this piece for a wedding gift for one of my husband's co-workers. I just love how it came out and so did the recipients! Pattern by: Chantal Pare (modified)

Grandmother's Antique Plate Panel

Antique Plate Stained Glass Panel

I made this piece for myself and it hangs in the window above my kitchen sink. The centerpiece for this panel is an antique plate that was my Grandmother's. I don't know the story of it but have always loved it since I was a little girl. To my knowledge, it was the only one like it that she had. I chose red and teal glass to use around it because those are the colors of my kitchen. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Antique Plate Stained Glass Panel

This picture shows some of the beautiful detail of the antique plate. It had a stunning scalloped edge and I was so worried that detail would disappear. With very careful work, I was able to keep it!

Sushi Panel

This was a very early piece for me that was a gift for my Aunt & Uncle. The colors were a custom request to match the colors in the rug in their living room. My Uncle often called it "Sushi". It features coordinating color glass nuggets. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Diamond Bevel Panel

Custom Bevel Panel with clear texture Tapestry Glass, this panel was made so that it could hang vertically or horizontally. The bevels make beautiful rainbows when the sun shines through them. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Fitzpatrick Panel

This piece was a commission that was given to a couple for their anniversary. The center bevel features their last name that is etched into the glass and four shamrocks that are etched into the corned pieces and then highlighted with gold rub n buff. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Gatsby Bevel Panel

This Gatsby Bevel Panel was made for our home, it hangs in a window in our living room. It is made with a beautiful Gatsby bevel cluster positioned at an angel. I added the round bevels to give it a more complete look. The beautiful rainbow effect finish is from the rough rolled iridescent glass that I used around the bevel cluster. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Jewel Bevel Panel

This beautiful Jewel Bevel Panel features Ruby Red Waterglass around the center bevel cluster and a bevel border. It was made to hang vertically or horizontally. Pattern by: Kristal Kreations

Sky Blue Waterglass Bevel Panel

Here is another version of the Jewel Bevel Panel made with Sky Blue Waterglass. You can really see the gentle flow of the waterglass in this picture.
